It’s that time of year again.  A magical time of year when a jolly fat man dances from rooftop to rooftop, people buy stuff they don’t need and claim “tis the season.”  But picture this: instead of buying another pair of nanos and another pair of Lululemon shorts maybe you should put that money towards an investment in yourself… instead of on yourself. (That joke was a bit of a stretch… but you know, I like to commit to my jokes, so stick with me).

The Gambler: Coming back to the gym after an injury.

If you train long enough you are going to get an injury. That’s the wet nasty truth. Whether your injury comes from over training, bad coaching, or just some insane accident, at some point something is going to get in your way.

Local Competions: The Good, The Bad and The Rhabdo.

Crossfit is all about community.  We are all one big happy family and everyone gets along and encourages each other and everyone should just do their best, right?  Most of the time, this is true. However once and while, something dark, dirty and disgusting rears its ugly head. Something so vile and dangerous that can destroy a gym or make it rise to the top.

Thats right internet, I’m taking about local competitions. More and more, everyday athletes are pushing themselves to the limit by attending local competitions.  For some, this is just a fun way to spend a weekend with friends.  But for others, these competitions can be soul crushing and life-altering.  Having been to one too many competitions myself, here are a couple questions you might want to ask if you are considering hopping on this crazy train.
